The breakdown: Tangina Stone - Exposed feat. Nelly Furtado

Updated: Mar 25, 2018

Ohio native, Brooklyn based Alternative R&B singer, Tangina Stone, teams up with the one and only phenomenal Nelly Furtado in this cleverly-written, catchy track, "Exposed". As the U.S. release of Stone's upcoming album, Elevate, draws near, Tangina blesses us with a dance worthy track with a hook that invites and entices. Admittedly, I have not personally listened to any songs by Tangina beforehand until another blogger mentioned to check her out. Surprisingly enough, this song worth the listen and rave. We've all been to a point in our lives where we've had a relationship that has served it's dues and is no longer needed. Some more than others. It possibly came to a point where you were both lying to yourselves and you needed to separate yourself from the other entity and move on. "I've done too much lying and it's not good enough," Nelly sings over a layered and textured beat produced by Fouche with co-production by WOLFGVNG. Tangina's voice holds an emotionally-rich, effortless tone with polished but electric dives and peaks. This gravitational vibrated concept allows you to enjoy various sections of the music from the harmonic and soulful voices of the two artists, to the raw lyrical serving. It was satisfying to hear the recognizable, grammy-winning "like a bird" singer's voice again. Many instances they both describe their excitement with working together. With a well-toned history behind them, Tangina announced on June 25th that she was guest performing with Furtado at the NYC Pride Parade after sunset. She shared snaps of her rehearsal and even pre-stage videos on her Instagram. If you aren't aware of who this dynamically talented artist is, Tangina can be found on social media platforms and various high quality blogs where the work noted that she's accomplished in the last 3 years is only the tip of the iceberg compared to what she's striving for in 2k17.
