Awe struck and immersed is only 2 of the reactions you experience while watching this introspective visual by Lizzy Ashliegh, a NYC singer-songwriter, dancer and creative content creator. Produced by ItsGoldBrick and Co-Produced by Flip N Gawd, "Feel" is a tropical Reggae-Pop conversion that blossoms into an exotic arrangement catering to exhilarate sounds with highlights of finely-calibrated dance worthy notions. "The video was inspired by MJ's 'Do You Remember The Time' music video when Eddie Murphy was kicking people out of the throne room," says Lizzy. "I love that video and wanted to relive that moment for 'Feel'. [It's] The story of an unhappy Queen wanting to feel something".
The video follows Queen Lizzy stunningly perched on her throne holding what you could call a "jester" audition. As we all know in the Medieval times, Kings often held what we now know as auditions within the confinements of their ostentatious castles demanding their courts to find talent worthwhile to entertain them. Lizzy plays the role perfectly, never satisfied as act after act comes into her chamber to spotlight their skills. From fire juggling to ballet, an array of acts bombard Lizzy to no avail, only to be herded out by her guards. Ashliegh, a long-time promoted artist here on The Block, shows her spectacular growth in artistry by not only creating the music for the song but by also directing and editing her own video. "I went to NYDA for film and television," adds Ashliegh. "I dabbed in making fan made music videos for artists like Alessia Cara and Childish Gambino. I spent days editing this video making sure it was perfect and told the story I wanted. I wrote out the script, did wardrobe and location scouting".
With over-the-top immaculate imagery, crisp angles and relentless unlookable scenes, "Feel" tackles electric rhythimic vibes and transporting adjectives that swallows the viewers into a world of hypnotic dance, drama and unpredictable endings. The single itself has already earned the #2 spot on Billboard's Reggae Albums Chart (Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica). "I am blessed to be surrounded by so many talented NYC artists who I can call family and we support each other's projects [after projects]". Besides attending monumental events such as Rae Sremurred's SremmLife 3 and Janelle Monae's Dirty Computer release parties, Lizzy is in the works of producing new content. "[I'm] excited for the next one, currently working on an E.P. (5 to 6 songs, maybe?)". Whatever's coming our way, we'll sure it'll be some heat and we'll be sure to wear protective gear when we deliver it straight to The Block.
