Produced by RAYAN and directed by RU Shot Ya, New York Pop/R&B artist Joan Mercury hit the music scene in 2015 and released a powerful withstanding track titled "Proceed with Caytion". With Artist influences from a vast array of genres and styles from the 80s and 90s era Michael Jackson, Janet, Queen, Sade, Prince, Amy Winehouse, George Michael, David Bowie, Duran Duran, Dua Lipa and more, Mercury shines bright in her latest video with those influences clearly present. "Proceed with Caution is about the healing process that comes after a breakup. Particularly from a toxic relationship. During the healing process we tend to relive moments of it. Often with a new perspective." With a 90's girl group vibe, minus the members, Mercury delivers prosperous lyrics exposing partners who believe just because they don't cheat, doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't toxic. "Those memories can literally pop up at of nowhere. Then there’s this battle of your old way of thinking, (victim like mentality) to a more confident version of yourself that has always been there (just misguided). You’re validating your feelings and acknowledging that you might feel lost at the moment - but know that toxic person is not in your life anymore and you can get out of any difficult situation. ." Due to be released October 9th is her debut album, "Mercury Rising".
